Description
In Ti Piper's book, Fishing in New Mexico, he says, "...in The Brazos box, above Corkins Lodge and the Brazos River meadows, in the high country, offers fantastic wild trout fishing all on private land. There are browns, brook trout, rainbows and cutthroats in the headwater creeds. In terms of wild populations of naturally reproducing trout, the upper Brazos nurtures the best trout fishery in the state, all on private land." The Ranch joins the Tres Piedras District on the Carson National Forest making a front yard of 354,000 acres uninhabited timberland, sitting on top of a high plateau from 8,000 to nearly 11,000 feet in elevation. Open meadows, rich in wild flowers, are interspersed with stands of pine, spruce, fir and aspen.
